Robert has over 45 years experience in the field of electronics manufacturing. Initially starting work as an electronics technician working in the area of emergency lighting and computer terminals and then moving into production management and materials management roles.
Robert has worked for Mintronics P/L (emergency lighting), Electronic Control Systems P/L (computer peripherals) and Tytel (telephone products) he also worked for GEC Marconi as a production engineer.
In 1987 he founded the contract electronics company, Dayang Electronics Manufacturing, specialling in small to medium batch manufacturing. Over the next 25 years the company grew to become a significant operation employing over 80 people and providing assembly services to many well-known companies including Resmed, Chubb and Wormald.
Concurrently with Dayang, Robert was also Managing Director of Digital Studio Processing a company designing and manufacturing professional audio editing equipment. DSP had sales in Australia, UK, USA and Japan with the product being used in radio, audio post production and film editing. While MD for DSP Robert was successful in applying for and administering R&D grants in excess of $1.0M. In addition to the R&D grants he accessed funding through EFIC and the Export Market development grant scheme also raising venture capital for DSP to take it to the next stage of development.
A significant factor in Dayang’s success could be attributed to the on-line materials management and production control software that he developed. This software gave customers access to production status and stock levels in real time while providing comprehensive management data.
Dayang was accredited to ISO9001 and implemented Product Lifecycle Management software for the control of all engineering documentation.
In 2015 Robert established Peak Electronics Manufacturing to provide a comprehensive fast turnaround assembly service for prototype and small production runs.
